I thought it was time for another installment of “Shop Talk”.
I bet there are many of you that want to grow your business this year.
Maybe this is even one of your resolutions and something that is a priority to you.
One of the easiest and least expensive things you can do to promote your business is to wear your art (if applicable) and pass out your information to new people you meet.
I love to wear my own jewelry, clothing and especially purses.
Nothing is better than when a person comments on my bag and I am able to whip out a business card and let them know where they can get their own!
{I can't tell you how many times I have handed out a card to a salesperson at Anthropologie because they loved my jewelry, dress or bag...that always make me giddy because you all know how much I love their stuff}
I learned a long time ago that a traditional business card just didn’t work for me.
When I used to hand out a business card and I would explain what I did people’s eyes glazed over and they just didn’t get it.
They would shake their heads that they understood but I could tell they had no clue.
That is when I decided to design a postcard that would have photos of my art and all of my contact information.
When I was first starting out my husband and I designed them and had them printed off at Walgreens as photos.
Nowadays I have gorgeous postcards that were designed by Sara Duckett of Sadie Olive.
These postcards also serve double duty because I include one with every order and write my thank you on the back.
I promise you that this is money well spent.
Potential customers can actually see what I make and they have all the information to contact me.
The best part is that they are just big enough that they are harder for people to misplace or lose.
