i agree...i was going to go upstairs and snuggle in my covers with my laptop, but instead, i'm going to sit by the fire and look at the tree...try to soak it in a little longer :)

Ahhh...you are so right. Maybe that "hold onto that Christmas feeling" after Christmas should begin with us. Quite a concept to ponder =)
Ahhhh....love your photography. I will read on~

i am still listening to christmas carols. they seem to sound even better this week.

ps - thanks for the visit & the kind words & oh my! i LOVE your tree. i'd keep it up a while longer too.

this is so true, someone once told me that the tree is supposed to be a representation of a sign of HOPE. therefore should be up though the new year!!! :)
i hope that you have a very blessed new year

So true, Jeanne! You are absolutely right! I think we will do the same around here....thanks for the inspiration.

Dore

Beautiful, and not a bad idea at all.
Jeanne, my aunt has been known to leave it up into Febuary, a little much at this point but you are right nothing like the spirit of Christ-mas!

Thank you for a quite reminder of what we should all remember that sweet love of the Lords day.

Jeanne, I was beginning to think that I was the only one who felt that way about Christmas. Way too many people were excited to take their trees down the day after :-). I still have mine up and going strong :-)

I agree!!! I always leave my tree up until at least New Year's Day. Sometimes longer.

Karen

Mine will be up long after we ring in the new year! Yours is beautiful!

PREACH IT GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goof for you Jeanne ~ keep the spirit alive! I have been reading all over how people have already dismantled everything but not I ~ no no no! I will take the tree down this week-end but I too want to hold onto it just a little bit longer....

Jacqueline

Sounds wonderful!! Wishing you JOY and LOVE for a wonderful New Year my sweet friend. Thank you for all the blessings, love and support you have given me this year. Have a lovely merry happy last week of 2010! Love to you!

While I love the Christmas decorations and the lights of the season, I am done with it all! My house is back to normal, it all came down the day after Christmas :) I do notice the darkness of the house when I go upstairs now, without the glow of the lights to guide me.
I love to follow your blog, yours is the first I always look for! Love all your pictures!

Theresa

We leave our tree and most of the decorations up past the Epiphany... it helps keeps us wrapped in the spirit of Christmas long after the 25th has gone. Our tree is usually dropping needles like crazy but that's o.k.... Merry Christmas and I hope 2011 is full of everything you hope for! Theresa xoxo

kolleen

i couldn't agree more!!!

there is something about the nighttime...
when the only lights in my house that are on,
are those on my christmas tree.
it simply makes me happy.

loving you

me too....

I totally agree. The atmosphere of Christmas should be around year round. Not just the decorations, but the facts that people do seem to be a little nicer and pleasant.
My house is just a little too small to leave up my tree, but I have done that in other houses. However, I may still keep my smaller tree up :)

Pat

Jeanne, I so agree with you. Mine is still up and I plan to leave it up for another week or so. My MIL is here and she will go stand by it, look at it and walk away...I'm waiting for her to ask when I'm going to take it down or she'll offer to "help". I'm not letting anyone intimidate me into taking it down. If some people can have a tree up before Thanksgiving, surely I can have one up 1-2 weeks after Christmas.

Blessings and Happy New Year to you and your family.

I'm joining you!!! I'm still keeping my tree up and my bowls of ornaments.... just took down the stockings. It all went so fast this year for me that i thought it would be nice to enjoy the lights inside for part of January.
xo,

I know just what you mean...it seems I just got everything up...and then it was over. I think holding on a little longer is a great idea.
