Hi Jeanne :)

You are so funny! I live in Ohio and don't have one at all, so I'm jealous of your little bush AND your candle! LOL

Thank you so much for coming by :)

The Beautiful Life

What a funny post!! Loved it!

We have the "water enforcers" here in Florida, too... BIG TIME.

I have a "black thumb" so whenever I wish I had a certain plant or flower around, I typically head to Michael's or Joann's and buy silk versions!

Cute post, girlie!!

There are huge lilac bushes with the glory of their beauty and fragrance just waiting for you to enjoy - here in Illinois:)
You make me smile:)

elyse

i love the scent of lilacs. we haven't planted any (yet) so i've become sort of a lilac burglar -- pulling off the road to grab a snip or 2 when i see 'em!

We were visiting my brother-in-law in Denver last summer and that's one thing I couldn't love about Colorado: the lack of green everywhere except in the mountains. I think I offended my brother-in-law by going on and on about it, actually! ha. It was a shock to me. So I know what you mean since I'm from the Mid-West, in other words. But lilacs are pretty sweet smelling, aren't they? :)

Jackie

Oh, we have the water police here too - in Cali! I told the landscape guy what I wanted planted in the yard and he laughed and said "yeah, that'll look good for about a day!" - nice! So, so far no plants, but we're working on it...hopefully I can get at least SOMETHING I like in this climate - I envy all those midwest and east coast girls with their pretty gardens too!

Rachel

If you need a lilac 'fix', come over and see my big TREE!

No, I wasn't laughing at you, either.

A pocket full of posies...

Too funny!!! promise I wasn't laughing either..tee-hee! :)

LuLu

I'm missing the beach right now so I bought a candle called Beach Walk! feel better!!! :)

amy

funny!! i want that candle!!

Chasity

i only laughed a teeeny tiny bit :)
that candle will last a whole lot longer than those dumb lilac blooms anyway. {{does that help any?}}

I know the feeling Jeanne Queensland (my part any how) was in a drought & we had to put in a big water tank so I could get to water my plants.I have since moved to the tropical north of Qld & we have been having loads of rain mind you we are coming into dry season.
but some how those pesky weeds keep growing!!
Enjoy the candle & don't give up on the lilac bush :)
You made me laugh ;)

I did not laugh at your lilac bush...because at least you have one! I dont have any and they grow like crazy around here...just never got around to planting one! I love the scent too...they are so beautiful and old fashioned.

HA! I don't even have a lilac bush..and usually all my flowers have kicked the bucket a few months after I plant them, so you are doing GREAT in my book! I am envious of you! :)

Roberta

It's okay to cheat the senses once in a while Jeanne! I'm glad I'm not alone. I planted a lilac bush outside my kitchen window last year and I can't wait until I can enjoy it while washing dishes. Don't know what I was waiting for... I've been at the beach cottage for 10 years now! Oh well.
So glad you enjoyed the magazine.

You have such a great sense of humor! It was so fun meeting you at Farm Chicks...(Im Lissa's sister from Humble Pie)...I love lilacs too...and yes I did laugh (sorry) at the size of your lilac bush, cuz my moms lilac bushes are huge and amazing...But we don't have to worry about water patrol men ;o)

B

You are funny! I am moving back to England in a few weeks and I'm sure that my garden won't be a patch on your lilac bush; such is my green thumb.Or green fingers as we say in England ;O)

Rebekah

Oh - I want one! I love the smell of lilac and even if you have a big ol tree it never last long enough :)

Alyssa

you crack me up. I think your wee lilac bush is very pretty - and tenacious! I do feel lucky to have lilacs surrounding our yard...you can always come back to Illinois :)

Rachel Follett

Your photographs of your Lilacs are gorgeous!
