I know you are probably waiting for my post on Brave Girl Camp.

Sorry...that would require me being ahead of schedule and that doesn't usually happen.

As you can imagine my weekend will be very busy.

I thought I would give you something today though!!!

I have been wanting to show you my FAVORITE new coffee shop in Galena, Illinois.

While we were home visiting my parents Kelly and I spent a few days alone in Galena.

I swear to you we visited this coffee shop four times and they truly thought we were stalkers!

I was asking about the paint color (smoked oyster if you are interested) and pretty much gushing about every little detail the whole time I was in there.

I could live here!!!

So, if you are headed to Galena anytime soon be sure to stop in and support a local coffee shop....and you may just want to stalk them too!!!

A Little Midwest Stroll

 

There are few things that I miss from growing up in the Midwest as much as the trees!

Trees that provided us endless hiding places and shade throughout the hot summers.

 

Trees that painted the hills with the most gorgeous colors in the fall.

 

Trees that were my dreaming place. 

I can remember many times that I would sit under a tree with my art supplies or journals dreaming of all the things I wanted to become.

 
So when we come home we always have to walk where our feet crunch the leaves underneath and our heads are covered from above with their shade.

 

Paris {the flea market}

 

When I was making plans to go to the south of France I couldn't imagine coming all that way and not spending a little time in Paris.

I really wanted to make sure my time in Paris overlapped with the flea markets.

When I dreamed of coming to France I truly couldn't get the flea markets out of my mind.

You can't leave France without a treasure when you long to shop at the markets.

Making my way through the aisle, looking through everything from silver, to papers, paintings, stamps...everything you can imagine was there.

As I would be rummaging through a pile of old letters I would hear this beautiful language all around me that I could hardly make out.

I found everything that I dreamed of finding at the markets between the south of France and Paris...I felt like the luckiets girl in the world.

(and yes..I was as tired as I look in this photo)

Even now as I walk around my home each day picking up after the children, talking with friends, decorating for fall...I am reminded of my beautiful trip by a painting on the wall, a camera on the mantel, linens on my bed.
